About Us

HEDGE (Heritage, Digitalization and Empowerment for Global Engagement) is a research and innovation project developed by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, dedicated to the preservation, accessibility, and internationalization of Portuguese cultural heritage.

Grounded in interdisciplinary collaboration, HEDGE harnesses digital technologies to document, safeguard, and promote Portugal’s rich cultural assets. The project aims to expand access to heritage collections, empower communities through inclusive narratives, and position Portuguese heritage within a global context.

By combining tradition and technology, HEDGE seeks to ensure that cultural heritage is not only preserved but also shared, reimagined, and experienced by present and future generations.
